The low-frequency driver; its size sets bass ability — and room requirements.
The woofer moves the most air, so its diameter and excursion set bass capability. Bigger is only better when the room can absorb it: an 8-inch woofer in a 10×11 untreated bedroom is a bass problem with a warranty. Match woofer size to room volume first, budget second.
