A closed subwoofer box: tighter roll-off, small-room ally, apartment-safe choice.
A sealed sub rolls off gently at about 12dB/octave, which pairs beautifully with small-room gain — the free bass boost rooms under ~1,500 ft³ add below 40Hz. The result is deep extension without the port’s output peak, in a smaller box. It is our default recommendation for apartments and bedrooms, where control beats maximum SPL.
